I just bought Tickets to see Rancid in Denver on Aug 2nd and Aug 3rd. Thats right they are playing two shows. I may not fly to tucson to see them since I will get to see them twice in denver.

Rancid Show Date Corrections

Well they had listed July 2nd, but they had it wrong. The Rancid site now lists August 2 as the show date. that will work too - actually better. Other dates have been adjusted too. I want to go see them in Tucson on July 7th. Then in SLC if and when - then In denver on Aug 2nd.

Rancid in Denver

Rancid has announced a show in Denver on July 2nd.

I return from Chicago on June 30th. Whew! Just in time. Maybe they'll play Chicago while I am there. I also hope they play SLC sometime when I can go.

Fun in the Sun

To quote a Mudhoney song "Today, is a good Day"

It was in the mid 70's and sunny, with little wind. I took advantage of it by going golfing with Jason and Chris. We just did the front nine at jacoby. I can drive and aproach ok, but my short game is really bad. I three putted about everything. It was nice to finally have some time off from work to just play. I think I may take next friday off from work to further relax myself. I also need to take a day and clean my place.

What to say ...

Well it is time to post to my blog again, but I can't think of what to write. Nothing has really happened to me this last week or 2. I go to work then come home and watch TV for a few hours and go to bed.... Rinse and repeat.

I have to work this Saturday which is a bummer, but oh well.

Rancid News ...

Some rumors have been confirmed, others are still unknown. here is what we do know:

On April 19th the new rancid website finally launched. According to rancid their new album will come out in springtime 2007. Rancid also has a DVD coming out in July that will feature 31 rancid music videos covering 1993-2003.

Also Rancid will begin a worlwide tour in July. No specific dates have been announced yet.

Rob Zombie Concert

Well I survived the show, and still have my hearing. It actually wasn't as loud as others I've been to (Foo Fighters) but it was a good show.

They played some old songs that they hadn't done in quite some time such as Creature of the wheel and black sunshine.

One interesting thing happened. They actually played American Witch twice, which is very unusual. They opened with it, then after a few encores rob asked if they could play it again and record it for possible use in ther video since the crowd was so good. of course we agreed, so they turned on all the house lights and spotlights on the crowd, and recorded us as they played american witch for a second time.

The first band Lacuna Coil was ok. They have a sound somewhat reminisant of evanescense, but much heavier.

Sad Rumors ...

It has been rumoured that during one of the Hellcat Records nights in LA that Rancid announced that they are releasing their new album in early 2007 and breaking up afterwards. They also said they would be doing a tour later on this year and no tour after the new album arrives to support it.

Whenever they announce any tour I will be traveling as far as I have to to see them one more time before it is all over.

Damn - What am I going to look forward to now?

Rob Zombie Coming Up

I'm excited to see zombie in concert again. It should be a good time. I like the new album - Educated Horses.

Unfortunately I am going to the concert by myself. I have two tickets, but no one to come along. It seems everyone is too poor or just doesn't like good music, or maybe they don't want to hang out with me. Their loss.

oh - btw "My Life on a round plastic disc" has been delayed for a bit until I can get my song recording equipment working better. I started writing a new song, but ran into some issues - so It is only partly done. In the mean time I will work on the writing portion of the disc. I'll keep you posted...

MWC Tourney

That was a fun weekend in Denver. The cowboys really surprised me and many others with their two wins, and they came so close against SDSU.

Brackets are out - Air Force is a surprise to many, but I had them in. Should be a fun tourney to watch. The cowgirls were let out of the NCAA, but have a first round bye in the NIT, and get to host 1 or 2 home games.

Driving home from the tourney was a pretty cool site. It was reminisant of Hoosiers. It was after 1:00 am and in front and behind me all I could see were headlights and taillights of cowboy fans returning home from the game.

Also Coach McClain was not fired as rumors said he would be. Looks like the tourney saved his job. I hope we can win next year.

Cowboys

Well I just became a member of the Cowboy Joe Club. I don't mind supporting the cowboys since I enjoy them so much. Plus now I get free parking at football games. Not that it was ever a problem before, but this will make tailgating easier.

I have taken off work part of this thursday and all of Friday so I can go watch the MWC tourney in Denver. I think that should be a good time.

Weekend Work

Well I get to work all day tomorrow rebuilding a server. Hopefully It will be quick and smooth. I have done a lot of prep work to make it easier.

I'm craving come Chello's for lunch, so I think I will head over there and enjoy some good small town family mexican food.
