Reading the classics

So I decided today that I should read some of the 'classic' novels that I always hear mentioned. In the past I've read manly horror and science fiction (I love to your scattered bodies go by Phillip Farmer, part of his 'riverworld' series) I figure it is time to expand my - whatever I am expanding by reading.

I decided to start small with "Of mice and Men" I never read it in High School, but I figure since it is short it is a good place to start. I am open to other suggestions of 'classic novels' I should read.

let the dominoes fall

Rancid's new album finally has a name and release date. I can't believe it has been 6 years. I just listened to the first new track, and I like it.

15 Years and memories

Today is the 15th year anniversary of when Kurt Cobain's body was found. I listened to a lot of Nirvana today. I still love their music. I remember how devastated I felt that day when I heard the news. It was probably the first tragic thing I had witnessed that I felt somewhat connected to in my life. I loved that music so much. Sometimes I wonder what other music we are missing out on because of his death.

Almost every year on the anniversary I have done something to remember Nirvana and Kurt; watch videos, listen to music, etc. After some time had passed many people thought I was strange (maybe still do) and my memorials started to be just by myself instead of with friends.

I remember the first time I heard Nirvana. I was in art class in junior high and a friend, I don't remember who, gave me a copy of nevermind on a cassette tape. it was the greatest thing I had ever heard, and probably still the greatest today.

I'm thankful for my sister who knew that I loved nirvana, and took me to my first concert on December 18, 1993. I'm so glad I got to see Nirvana. Thank You Rachel.

Baseball Today - 8 Hours away

The cubs start play in about 8 hours. It is still too cold with snow on the ground here in Laramie for baseball.

Here's to hoping for a third straight division title, and more importantly a pennant.
